Training with Waltraud Gruber

Austrian List 1 international judge and trainer Waltraud Gruber will visit Ireland and share her training expertise at Dollanstown Stud, Kilcock, Co. Kildare, by kind permission of Ulla and Rolf Seidel and Caroline and Lars Bjoerk.

Mrs Gruber will give up to eight individual private lessons each day from Friday 8 to Sunday 10 May. The cost for each lesson is €70 and lessons must be pre-booked and pre-paid. Please contact Jenny Egan at or on ***–***–**** for bookings. It will also be possible to book a semi-private lesson for two riders sharing.

Mrs Gruber, who competed in dressage, jumping and 3-day events up to M level (intermediate), as well as spending a year training at the Spanish Riding school in Vienna, began her judging career in 1975, achieving national classification for judging Grand Prix in 1994 and being appointed as an International Dressage Judge in 1998.

Mrs Gruber judges regularly at the Austrian National Championships and has judged internationally in Poland, Hungary, Slovakia, Slovenia, Germany, Austria and Ireland, most recently at the Dressage Ireland national Championships 2008.

Since 1995 she has been active as a Special Dressage Trainer (FENA). Between 1992 and 2000 she was chairman for all affairs concerning judges and chairman for trainer development in the Austrian National Federation for riding and driving. For the last two years she has represented the State of Lower Austria in the National Federation for all affairs concerning judges and riding instructors.

She currently owns and rides a Lipizzaner Stallion schooled up to the S level (PSG).
