Leinster Dressage Coaching

We are delighted to introduce our two coaches for 2014, both of whom were among the first participants to achieve their HSI Level 3 coaching status.
Heike Holstein
Based in Carberry Co Kildare Heike is a three time Olympian having competed at Atlanta, Sydney and Athens. She has successfully competed at many national and international championships, and has been Irish National Champion 11 times in her career to date.
Over the last number of years she has been responsible for training the Irish International Young Rider Eventing team and more recently the under 25 squad. She trains both at home and abroad and is also employed by the Irish Army Equitation School.
Heike says “the young rider eventing team have won a medal at each Championship since I joined them three years ago but one of the highlights of my coaching career to date was working with Helen Kearney and seeing her win three Olympic medals in London 2012”.
Maureen Dwyer
Maureen runs an excellent livery and training facility near Dunboyne Co Meath. She has successfully competed at all levels from Preliminary to Grand Prix. She is a holder of the much coveted BHSI Instruction & Equitation certificate and is also a NCCP Level 2 Canadian coach as well as our own HSI Level 3 status.
She has successfully trained many horse rider combinations including the National Champion of Ireland in 2012 and coached young rider combinations for the Irish Team and European Championships.
Maureen says “I really enjoy coaching but working with Kate (Dwyer) and seeing her selected for the first Irish Nations Cup Dressage Team at Hickstead in 2013 was a real thrill”.
